Voltoss and Spirii join forces to introduce ultrafast chargers on Scandinavian harbours
- Ultrafast charging stations, compatible with both electric vehicles and vessels, are set to be deployed at Scandinavian harbours and industries.
- All chargers will utilize advanced battery systems, allowing for revenue generation through charging and grid services.
- The initiative by Voltoss enables harbour and commercial real estate owners to have the option to operate chargers at no cost.

Voltoss, a technology company renowned for its battery operating system, batteryOS, and new power generation, has teamed up with Spirii, a global provider of EV charging solutions, to deploy mobile ultrafast charging stations at harbours across the Nordics.
The mission is to establish easily accessible solutions for ultrafast charging of electric vehicles and vessels along the coasts of Sweden and the rest of the Nordics.
All chargers are equipped with an advanced battery system orchestrated by Voltoss batteryOS to maximize the performance and efficiency of renewable energy, with the option to add solar energy charging. They will be capable of powering both electric vessels and vehicles, including trucks and busses.
The chargers will be operated through Spirii’s advanced EV charging platform, allowing for creation of new revenue streams. This can be achieved by making the chargers publicly accessible or by selling excess stored energy back to the grid operator.
The first charging point was launched on 30th of August at Fiskebäck harbour in Gothenburg, in collaboration with Gothenburg Region’s leisure harbours authority, GREFAB.
Jonas Voss, CEO at Voltoss, honours GREFAB’s early engagement and expresses enthusiasm about engaging more harbour-based businesses in the project:
“GREFAB has set a pioneering example in electrifying Scandinavian harbours, demonstrating that charging stations can be both sustainable and profitable. They’re now supporting the harbour’s transition to electric power while simultaneously generating revenue. This creates an appealing business case from which many companies in our operating area could benefit.”
Tore Harritshøj, CEO and co-founder of Spirii, shares his enthusiasm about the initiative, emphasising that the involved companies contribute positively beyond local impacts. They also support the power grid by supplying surplus energy:
“We’re super proud to contribute to this project, which not only advances the electrification of vehicles but also extends to marine vessels,” says Harritshøj. He adds, “While the shift to electric power does pose challenges for the grid, charge point owners have a unique opportunity to ease the strain by supplying stored electricity during peak times. This project opens up such possibilities, and I’m happy to contribute to its success through our partnership with Voltoss.”
Companies and property owners interested in joining the project can contact Voltoss for more information.
