Hedersmedalj till Falckmedarbetare
Varje år delar Falck ut Sophus Falck Medal of Honour till befintliga eller före detta medarbetare i Falck. För första gången har nu medaljen delats ut till en svensk medarbetare, Paula Jämbring, ambulanssjuksköterska i Malmö.
Medaljen delas ut till befintliga eller före detta medarbetare inom Falck som har utfört en betydande och heroisk insats. Insatsen ska ha räddat en annan person eller begränsat en annan persons skador. Insatsen ska ha inträffat när man inte var i tjänst, eller så ska det vara en insats som är utanför sina vanliga yrkeskvalifikationer.
Det var i januari som Paula var på väg hem från jobbet då hon såg en bil stå vid vägkanten med en till synes livlös man bredvid bilen. Paula stannade och utförde HLR på mannen tills dess att två ambulanser kom till platsen. Paula, som var nedkyld på grund av kyla, blåst och snö, fick följa med den ena ambulansen för att värma sig på sjukhuset.
Nomineringen till medaljen löd:
”Mannen överlevde tack vare att hans vänner snabbt larmade SOS Alarm i ett tidigt skede men också mycket tack vare Paulas insats när hon, trots svåra väderförhållanden, stannade för att hjälpa till. Hon utförde HLR utan avbrott under en lång tid. Mannen undersöktes sedan för misstänkt hjärtsjukdom och vårdades på hjärtklinik efter händelsen.”
- Jag vet att varenda en av mina kollegor hade gjort precis samma sak, den här (utmärkelsen) får vara lite till er allihop, sa Paula Jämbring vid utdelningen av medaljen.

Medaljen delades ut av Fredrik Madsen, Vice President, Group Human Relations and Corporate Culture på Falck i Danmark.
Fakta Sophus Falck Medal of Honour
Sophus Falck grundade Falck i Danmark 1906. Sedan 1956 (då Falck firade sitt 50-årsjubileum) delas varje år Sophus Falck Medal of Honour ut till befintliga eller före detta medarbetare som har utfört en betydande och heroisk insats. Insatsen ska ha räddat en annan person eller begränsat en annan persons skador. Insatsen ska ha inträffat när man inte var i tjänst, eller så ska det vara in insats som är utanför sina vanliga yrkeskvalifikationer. I år delas medaljen för första gången ut till en svensk medarbetare.

When serious accidents occur, it is not only the injured persons who are affected. Often, the experience also deeply affects family, friends, acquaintances or bystanders. Witnessing an accident can have serious mental consequences for bystanders and relatives, so it is important that they get the right help quickly to prevent prolonged illness.
