Denmark’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, will visit China on 16-18 August 2023 to meet his Chinese counterpart Minister for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi

The two ministers will discuss a new bilateral Danish-Chinese work program. Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen states as follows:

“The previous Danish-Chinese work program expired in 2020, and we have engaged in constructive negotiations over a new program during the past months. I hope we can agree on a new work program with a narrower focus on green cooperation within climate, energy, environment and health. These are all areas where Denmark offers sustainable green solutions of high international standards, and where our cooperation can contribute to reducing global carbon dioxide emission.”

In addition, the two ministers will discuss global issues, including Russia’s unlawful aggression against Ukraine, regional security, EU-China relations, human rights, and global economic issues.

The visit will include meetings with other official representatives in Beijing and a visit to Shanghai. The minister will be accompanied by a business delegation.
