STARK Group strengthens its position in the western part of Sweden

Sotenäs Trävaru AB is a family-owned company with branches in Bovallstrand, Tanumshede and Strömstad. The company has been successfully run for many years with strong and local business insights where excellent customer service and many years of industry knowledge permeates the company.
“I am very pleased to announce this new acquisition in Sweden and to welcome our new colleagues to STARK Group. With this acquisition, we increase our presence in an important part of Sweden, ensuring that we can continue to accommodate the Swedish builders in the best way possible. The acquisition is part of a larger investment in the western part of Sweden, where we recently also acquired Kakeldaxgruppen AB, Centro Kakel & Klinker AB and Angereds Byggvaror AB,” says Søren P. Olesen, CEO of STARK Group.
With the acquisition of Sotenäs Trävaru AB, Beijer will be able to provide an even better service to its customers. Sotenäs Trävaru AB has a strong local market position and has expanded over the past five years. The local presence and pace of expansion fits Beijer very well and is in line with its strategy. Similar to Beijer Byggmaterial, Sotenäs Trävaru AB has an assortment and format targeted to the professional craftsmen and home professionals. In addition, the local offering that the company has built up over the years will be further developed and strengthened under the Beijer brand.
“Sotenäs Trävaru AB's three branches complement our other branches in the Western region very well. The team at Sotenäs has managed to create an incredibly strong local anchorage and business together with many small, medium, and large builders in the region, which we want to develop further. With this acquisition, we are also welcoming 75 new competent and dedicated employees to the Beijer family,” says Geir Thomas Fossum, CEO of Beijer Byggmaterial AB.
The acquisition of Sotenäs Trävaru AB is subject to necessary authority clearances, expected in early 2022. The parties have chosen not to disclose the terms and price of the transaction.
