Sara Omar åbner årets Bogforum
Sara Omar brød igennem i 2017 med romanen Dødevaskeren, der var short listet til Bogforums Debutantpris og senere modtog "Læsernes Bogpris".
Sara Omar er født og opvokset i Kurdistan, men måtte flygte og ankom til Danmark som femtenårig i 2001.
Sara Omar er kandidatstuderende i statskundskab, sidder i Expert Advisory-panel for Arts & Globalization og er bestyrelsesmedlem ved nogle af Danmarks kvindeorganisationer og -foreninger.
Hun har tidligere bidraget med digte til henholdsvis Ord på flugt udgivet af Dansk PEN i 2016 og det svenske KRITIKER i 2014.
Det var imidlertid med romandebuten "Dødevaskeren", at Sara Omar slog sit navn fast på den danske litterære himmel. Romanen beskriver blandt andet kvindeundertrykkelse, social kontrol og æresdrab.
Bogforums officielle åbning foregår i Bella Centers store auditorie fredag d. 15. november kl. 11.00

Bogforum er Danmarks største litterære event og afholdt hvert år siden 1992. Flyttede i 2012 fra Forum på Frederiksberg til Bella Center Copenhagen på Amager.
Sidste år besøgte 38.326 gæster Bogforum hvilket et det højeste besøgstal i Bogforums 28 års historie. I 2019 deltog mere end 220 udstillere. Størstedelen af Bogforums udstillere er forlag.
