Amsterdam RAI – at Integrated Systems Europe 2012 – Jupiter Systems (www.jupiter.com ), the industry leader in display wall technology, announced its PixelNet® distributed display wall system will now offer a redundant server option as part of the latest version of its PixelNet Domain Control software.
“PixelNet already offers the industry’s highest level of reliability at the hardware level,” said Brady O. Bruce, VP of Marketing and Strategic Alliances, “and with this new version of the PixelNet Domain Control software an organization can easily deploy a backup server that will take over automatically if a problem occurs with the main PDC server.”
PixelNet is a natural for building the ever larger display wall systems required in high-end applications demanding high reliability. By its very nature PixelNet is fault-tolerant since a single node failure does not impair operation of the rest of the system. But customers have asked us to do something about the PDC server which does represent a single point-of-failure. Now we can provide backup for the server with failure detection and automatic switchover.
PixelNet® Distributed Display Wall System
PixelNet® , Jupiter’s Distributed Display Wall System, is the revolutionary distributed display wall solution employing network technology to capture, distribute, control and display digital, analog and streaming video sources for audiovisual applications. Based on technology previously used for data communication networks, PixelNet adopts Gigabit and 10-Gigabit Ethernet and Ethernet switches for use with high resolution, real-time video. Using packet-switching technology any information source can be shown on any display, as a window on a single display, or as a window spanning multiple display devices in a display wall. Any source can be shown at any size on any display or array of displays.
Jupiter’s PixelNet family of distributed display wall can be found in applications around the world, from New Orleans to New Zealand, from Romania to China and beyond, in industries including public transportation, traffic management, public utilities, security, defense, emergency operations, telecommunications, finance, health care, education and government. Users and systems integrators appreciate the powerful, highly scalable, distributed display wall system. Users can start with a single input and a single output and enjoy the certainty that they have purchased a system with the flexibility to expand to hundreds of inputs and outputs as their requirements evolve. The new family of high performance, networked video display wall processors was introduced at InfoComm two years ago.
