Twilio Expands Into Europe and Launches Twilio Voice in UK
Leading cloud communications provider opens office in East London

Twilio , the cloud communications company, today launched Twilio Voice in the UK and announced an office in East London, its first in Europe. Twilio developers can buy local UK telephone numbers instantly from the Twilio.com website and Twilio’s Application Programming Interface (API), allowing them to reach consumers and businesses in the UK with less friction. Twilio’s service is used to build web and mobile applications that can make and receive telephone calls, allowing businesses to use their existing software engineering resources and skills.
The company has opened its first European office to meet the widespread demand for its simple, powerful, pay-as-you-go developer tools. The cloud communications service also launched in beta today in Poland, France, Portugal, Austria and Denmark, with an additional 11 countries (Italy, Romania, Greece, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Sweden, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Finland) launching by the end of 2011.

Twilio also announces today its first major European customer. Zendesk, the customer support software provider, has announced the UK launch of Zendesk Voice, a cloud-based call centre powered by Twilio. Zendesk Voice lets users set up cloud-based call centres at a fraction of the cost of traditional set-ups.
