NEENAH, WISCONSIN, August 1, 2011 - Bemis Company, Inc. (NYSE-BMS) today
announced that it has acquired Mayor Packaging, a privately-owned manufacturer
of consumer and specialty flexible packaging including a manufacturing facility
in Dongguan, China.  Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
 This transaction does not impact earnings per share guidance for 2011.

"This acquisition supports our strategy to enhance our presence in the Asia-
Pacific region," said Henry Theisen, President and Chief Executive Officer of
Bemis Company, Inc.  "The high barrier, flexible packaging operation in Dongguan
is a state-of-the art facility that serves food and consumer product companies
around the world.  The addition of Mayor Packaging complements our existing
Asia-Pacific capabilities with a talented management team and an excellent
workforce, providing Bemis a strong platform from which to expand in the
future."
