10.5.2011 20:39:40 CEST | Business Wire | Press release
Leading provider of WAN governance solutions, Ipanema Technologies today announced it has won the Best Specialist Vendor award at the 2011 Total Telecom World Vendor Awards. The company won the prestigious industry prize on the merit of its pioneering technology, which enables service providers to quickly transform Virtual Private Networks from pure-play MPLS offerings to cloud-ready networks. Ipanema fended off competition from five other specialist providers to take the prize, announced last week at a ceremony at the Swan at the Globe, London.
The World Vendor Awards recognises excellence amongst the companies supplying hardware software and services for the global telecoms industry. The winners were chosen by a panel of expert industry judges including partners at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Telemark Services and the President of the GSA. Entrants for the Best Specialist Vendor Award were judged on innovation, ease of implementation, customer support, benefits to users and value for money. Ipanema Technologies’ winning entry detailed its WAN governance solution for service providers, powered by its patented Autonomic Networking System (ANS™). The entry was accompanied by glowing testimonials from customers such as BT, Cable&Wireless Worldwide and Swisscom who in particular praised the company’s ‘exemplary’ attitude to collaboration and R&D.
“Ipanema helps carriers to deliver and manage cloud MPLS in a very competitive and price-sensitive market,” the judging panel said. It went on to say that Ipanema’s entry included “a first rate set of recommendations from a serious group of operators.”
Jean Yves Leclerc, Chief Executive Officer , Ipanema Technologies, said of the announcement “We are delighted to have won the Best Specialist Vendor award. To be recognised by the top industry experts in this way further establishes Ipanema Technologies as a pioneering force in the WAN governance space.”
Nigel Pink, VP and GM UK&I , Ipanema Technologies said “What this award demonstrates is recognition by the telecom industry of the growing importance of WAN governance. Operators realise the need to facilitate efficient and reliable cloud computing for their enterprise customers. Out technology, offered as a service, is a compelling proposition that lets operators reduce margin erosion.”
