As a result, STARK Group is among the 3% of Danish companies that have obtained a platinum rating. This is the first time that the Group has been rated by EcoVadis: The world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, creating a global network of more than 75,000 rated companies.

The craftsmen in and around Helsinki can look forward to an improved customer experience with the opening of STARK Suomi’s new and modern flagship store in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The branch is built from a customer perspective focusing on digitalisation and having “everything under one roof” in order to provide the most efficient customer journey. As part of the construction, STARK Suomi’s new headquarters is located on top of the branch.

STARK Group has, through its subsidiary Neumann Bygg, entered into an agreement to acquire Treprodukter Øst AS. With the acquisition, Neumann Bygg expands its portfolio of branches in Greater Oslo with a strong and recognised one-branch specialist supplier of mouldings and profiles. Further, the acquisition will support the establishment of an even stronger branch network in and around the Norwegian capital.

STARK Group has, through its Swedish subsidiary, Beijer Bygmaterial AB, signed an agreement to acquire the builders’ merchant 100% Proffs Trä & Byggvaror. The bolt-on acquisition will further strengthen Beijer’s presence and position in the Stockholm area with additional two branches, an addendum to the existing 16 branches and two distribution centres. With the acquisition, STARK Group continues to consolidate and expand its footprint in one of Beijer’s most prosperous regions. The two branches are located in Brandhagen and Rotebro.

STARK Group has, through its Finnish subsidiary, STARK Suomi, signed an agreement to acquire Kodin Terra Tuusula from HOK-Elanto. The acquisition complements STARK Suomi’s comprehensive network of branches in Helsinki. The acquisition fits STARK Suomi very well and is in line with STARK Group’s strategy to grow the company through acquisitions as well as organically. Similar to STARK Suomi, Kodin Terra Tuusula has an assortment and format targeted at the professional builders and renovators in the capital area.

Today STARK Group announces that the company has become the first retailer and distributor of building materials in Denmark to join the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). As a participating company in the UNGC, STARK Group joins the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative with more than 10,000 companies and 3,000 organisations based in over 160 countries. STARK Group commits to the Global Compact’s Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption and to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

STARK Group’s subsidiary Beijer Byggmaterial initiates the recycling concept GENTRÆ as a pilot project in collaboration with Peab and Wihlborgs. The concept is being launched as part of Wihlborgs’ building project Kvartetten in Malmö, Sweden, an office building of 23,000 sqm. The building project is characterized by sustainable solutions that permeate the entire construction where materials are carefully selected, and a large part comes from recycling.
